Many, many,
arrangements were made for lodging, banquet, lunches, museum tours,
portraits for the color memory book, BIO and tall tales book, roster, name
tags, special automobile pass, Banshee & Skyhawk posters, historical
CD/DVD/VHS, door prizes, web site, ready rooms, golf matches, happy hours, etc., etc.
ALCON mailings provided members with a Registration Form and kept them
informed at the various planning stages.
Lodging
The centrally
located Navy Lodge was chosen as our official headquarters. A ready room
was set aside for small
group gatherings with coffee, and BYOB beverages, singing, guitar playing,
etc. Several members and their guests enjoyed the nice white sandy beach and
the Gulf waters behind the lodge. The Lighthouse restaurant was just over
a big sand dune and very convenient for unscheduled meals. The Mustin Beach O'Club
was a short drive and hosted several events. The Museum was a easy walk across the street.
Many members also took advantage of the golf course. A ready room was set aside for small
group gatherings with coffee, and BYOB beverages, etc.
